Materials:

  • 3 stalks of celery

  • 3 shallow dishes

  • Water

Get your kids excited about science with this fun and educational activity! Help them learn about photosynthesis by conducting an experiment with celery. All you need are three stalks of celery, three shallow dishes, and water.

The experiment involves using the ends of celery stalks that are usually thrown away to grow new celery. Place the bases of three celery stalks in three different environments: one in a dark room, one in a sunny room, and one outside. After just one week, your kids will observe and compare the growth of the celery in each environment.

This activity is a great way to teach kids about photosynthesis and the three essential ingredients required for it - sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. With this fun and engaging experiment, your little ones can also get creative and record their observations and hypotheses in a fun and interactive way.
