Chad Swenson, CEO/Founder

Tappity is the culmination of Chad’s experience building software products & his love for teaching kids. Prior to starting Tappity, Chad was a product designer and software engineer at Intel, Yahoo!, and Bill.com, where he spent over 10 years designing and building educational products, software applications, and games.

Lawrence Tran, CPO/Founder

As an undergraduate at Stanford University, Lawrence completed a research project at the famed Bing Nursery School, which sparked his interest in early education. Before Tappity, Lawrence worked at a variety of technology companies, including Intuit, Bill.com, and HP, building and launching products as a product manager and designer.

Tanner Swenson, CTO/Founder

A self-taught programmer since he was 5, Tanner has spent more than a decade building software products, including kids games, and was the first technical hire at several start-ups in the Bay Area.

Russ Nickel, Head Writer

Russ works as both a writer and an educator. He's written movies, TV, video games, short stories, and, of course, science lessons. He's also currently a professor at Chapman University. As a NASA-trained Stanford graduate, Russ loves telling stories about science!

Haley McHugh, Head Teacher

With over 10 years of experience teaching kids and working with parents through Camp Galileo, Haley is a childhood entertainment expert. She's crafted stories and performed for children all over the country with the Imagination Machine, traveling from city to city in order to inject a much-needed burst of inspiration into schools seeking new ways to excite their students.

Karlie Angelis, Staff Writer

Karlie is a screenwriting graduate from Chapman University. Aside from writing, she has a passion for science, learning, and exploration. She hopes to one day travel to space, as it is her favorite science topic.

David Gudeman, Senior Software Engineer

David has a background in the hard sciences, and his favorite subject is organic chemistry! Before Tappity, he worked as a software engineer and product manager at Symphony RM.

Björn Jeffery, Advisor

Björn is the founder and former CEO of Toca Boca, one of the most popular kids app of all time. Currently, he’s an independent analyst and advisor that runs a practice focused on digital strategy and consumer culture, specializing in kids and family entertainment.
